How to disassemble a dishwasher if it breaks? In the article, we will tell you how to independently disassemble the machine, inspect the components and not break anything in the course of work.
Common Malfunctions PMM
It is unlikely that someone will just want to delve into a complex technique. Disassembling the dishwasher Bosch, Candy, Siemens may be needed to find and fix the breakdown. To make it easier for you to navigate, consider the typical problems:
- Waste water does not drain. A common cause is clogging with leftover food from dishes, small debris. First, the filter is clogged, then debris enters the drain pump. This may cause a malfunction. To check the details, you need to remove the bottom of the PMM.
- No pressure. It is necessary to check the pressure in the tap. The installation may not be completed correctly.
- Water is not poured. The problem may be in the drain system. It is necessary to check everything in stages.
- The car is noisy or humming. Shards from broken dishes could fall into the drain, or the bearings of the pump and engine worn out.
- Leakage. Hose connections are broken, the hopper is damaged, Aquastop is broken. The equipment is subject to inspection.
Before disassembling, the machine must be properly prepared.
Preparing to use the dishwasher
If you have a built-in dishwasher, disconnect the fasteners, turn off communications and pull it out to an empty space.
With a freestanding model, do the same. But the compact machine, which is located on the table, can not be pulled out. It is enough to put it in a comfortable position.
Take care of the tools:
- crosshead screwdriver;
- pliers;
- awl.
To conduct work quickly and efficiently, it is important to understand the location of the parts in the housing. How the dishwasher is arranged, you can read in a separate article. We recall the main components:
- baskets for dishes;
- upper and lower spray;
- float sensor;
- drain filter;
- drain pump;
- heater;
- circulation unit;
- inlet valve;
- control module;
- additional heating heater.
Disassembly Stages
After disconnecting the hoses from the body, remove the remaining water from the chamber - it may remain in the sump. Open the door and remove all appliances from the camera. Pull out the baskets and holders at the same time.
Do I need to immediately remove the dishes after washing? Wait 10 minutes for it to cool.
The principle of disassembling dishwashers Electrolux, Beko and other brands is almost the same. Only some details may differ.
- Remove the decorative panel located under the door. To do this, unfasten the latches, unscrew the screws that hold the metal bar behind the panel. Remove the thermal insulation layer. The disassembly scheme will help you.
- Open the door. From the inside, unscrew the screws around the perimeter to remove the control panel, and then the board. Close the door and carefully remove the top panel, disconnecting the black wire along the way. Now you need to remove the command device and controller.
- To remove the module, disconnect the wiring chips. It is advisable to photograph their location, so that later it is easier to assemble.
- If your model (Bosch, Siemens, Indesit, Ariston) has a drying system, it must also be disassembled. Unscrew the door from the bracket. Disconnect the wiring. Disconnect the air duct, turn the inner flap counterclockwise and remove the detergent dispenser. See picture below.
- Time to remove the door. Remove the spring by pulling it up and pulling the hook out of the hole. Pull the door up and off the hinges.
- Remove all sprays inside the hopper. There can be from one to four pieces. To do this, just press their latches and remove from the seat.
- Unscrew the drain filter in the pan. There may be water behind it. Scoop it out with a sponge.
- Remove the bolts around the filter seat. They fasten the circulation unit. Remove the pump flap by pulling it to the side and towards yourself. Inspect the impeller.
- For convenience, turn the PMM upside down or put it “on its back”. Now you can remove the pan.
- Unscrew the fastening screws or unfasten the latches. Before opening the pan, disconnect the float sensor that attaches to it. Disconnect the sensor wiring, unscrew the bolt and remove the part.
- A filler valve is also attached to the base. Remove it by unscrewing the fasteners.
- Many parts are attached to the circulation pump. On the side you will find a drain pump. Remove the bolts and detach the latch. Scroll the pump counterclockwise, set it aside.
- A flow heater is also included in the assembly. Remove the TEN and, depending on the model, the pressure switch.
